Founded by Jordan McClusky, from apprentice electrician to leading one of Manchester's fastest-growing renewable energy companies. This is a business built on real trade experience, family values, and thousands of installations across the North West.
Our Story
Manchester Renewables didn't start in a boardroom. It started on building sites, up ladders, and inside fuse boards. Jordan McClusky picked up a set of tools straight out of school as an apprentice electrician and never looked back.
Apprentice Electrician
Jordan started as an apprentice electrician straight from school, learning the trade from the ground up. He spent years working for local firms across Manchester on commercial and industrial projects, building a deep foundation in electrical work.
Going It Alone
Jordan set up as an independent electrical contractor and joined the NIC/EIC. He began taking on domestic and small commercial jobs, building a reputation for reliable, quality electrical work across Greater Manchester.
The Solar Spark
Everything changed on a new build project — a Grand Designs-style house where the solar installers needed an electrician for isolators and connections. That one job led to another, then another. The more time spent around solar and battery systems, the clearer it became: this was the future.
Manchester Renewables Is Born
Launched Manchester Renewables, initially running electrical works alongside solar installations. Demand for solar grew so fast that the business went all-in on renewables. What started as a side interest became a full-time mission.
A Growing Family Business
Now a team of 6 skilled tradespeople with a dedicated office team handling operations. A true family business — built on hard graft, word-of-mouth reputation, and over 2,000 installations across the North West.

The Team
Manchester Renewables is a family business at its core. Jordan's partner Laura has been involved for over 10 years, managing the admin and office operations that keep everything running smoothly. At the back end of 2025, Jordan's Dad came on board too — helping with surveys, on-site support, and deliveries.
On-Site Crew
A team of 6 skilled tradespeople including qualified electricians and 2 electrical apprentices. Every team member holds either a Gold ECS card (electricians) or CSCS card (roofers and labourers) — fully carded, fully qualified.
Office & Operations
A dedicated office team handling bookings, customer support, and project coordination. From your first enquiry to final sign-off, there's always someone available to help.
Investing in the next generation. We currently have 2 electrical apprentices on the team, learning the trade the same way our founder did — hands-on, on real projects, with experienced electricians alongside them.
