Manchester Renewables installed a commercial solar PV system across the roof of a care home in Greater Manchester. The building's complex roof layout — a mix of pitched and flat sections — required careful planning to maximise panel coverage without compromising the building's aesthetics or safety access routes.

Care homes are ideal candidates for solar. They run 24/7 with high baseline electricity consumption for heating, lighting, catering, and medical equipment. That means a large proportion of the solar energy generated is used on-site during daylight hours, keeping self-consumption high and payback fast.

Our team worked closely with the care home management to schedule the installation with minimal disruption to residents and staff. All work was completed during normal working hours with no interruption to the building's power supply.
