Domestic Solar Panel Installation — Project 3

Greater Manchester

A domestic solar PV installation on a home in Greater Manchester by Manchester Renewables. Like all our residential projects, the system was designed around the homeowner's roof layout and energy consumption to deliver the best possible return on investment.

We handle the entire process from start to finish — survey, design, scaffolding, installation, electrical connection, MCS certification, and handover. There's nothing for the homeowner to arrange separately, and most installations are done and generating in a single day.

With over 100 domestic installations completed, our team knows how to work quickly and cleanly. We protect your property throughout, test everything thoroughly, and set you up on the monitoring app before we leave.

Common Questions

Is my roof suitable for solar panels?
Most roofs are suitable. South-facing roofs are ideal, but east and west-facing roofs still perform well. We assess orientation, pitch, shading, and structural suitability during your free home survey.
How much does a domestic solar installation cost?
With our standard Fox ESS hybrid inverter and 11.5kWh battery, a typical 4kW system costs £7,500–£8,000 and larger 5–6kW systems £8,000–£9,000, all including 0% VAT. Without a battery, take £3,000 off. All prices include scaffolding, installation and MCS certification, and our solar savings calculator gives a guide price for your own roof.
Do solar panels need much maintenance?
Very little. Panels are self-cleaning in most cases thanks to rainfall. We recommend an occasional visual check and an optional professional clean every few years if your roof is prone to bird mess or tree debris.
How long until solar panels pay for themselves?
Most homeowners in Manchester see payback in 5-7 years depending on system size, energy usage, and how much electricity they use during daylight hours. After that, it's essentially free electricity for another 20+ years.
